Rose Amarant Grant Criteria 

Purpose

The purpose of the grant is to provide funding to a gastroenterology unit or practice that treats inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients for an IBD clinical project, based on the “Quality Use of Medicines Principles” or that is related to the broader clinical aspects of IBD Management (e.g. a QUM project, patient well-being apps, paediatric or young teen project).

Grant

The Grant is for an amount of up to $10,000 (excluding GST) for a period of six months.

Eligibility

The application should be submitted via the GESA Grants Portal by a GESA member who will be the Project Champion or Chief Investigator.

The Chief Investigator is required to:

• be an Australian citizen or permanent resident;
• be a current financial GESA member with at least one year of prior membership and remain a financial GESA member until the project is completed and the final report has been received;
• have a position at, and approval from, an appropriate institution for the proposed research;
• conduct the research in Australia; and
• have submitted satisfactory final reports for completed projects that were supported by GESA grants in previous funding rounds.

Judging Criteria

The applications will be judged according to the following criteria:

A. 40% Research plan & Trial design

B. 30% Originality & Impact

C. 20% Track record

D. 10% Budget & Feasibility

Assessment

Applications will be assessed by the GESA Research and Grants Committee (RGC), or members co-opted by the committee for the purpose of reviewing grants.

Reporting & Communication

A condition of accepting this grant is that:

• you understand that GESA may publish the report on the GESA website or in other communications and publications,
• you may be requested to participate in a press release or video presentation should your grant report be selected,
• you must provide a clear explanation of how the funds were used.
